Related: About this forumHey - I will be at a few events in the area with my new book in a few weeks...
Aside from giving two talks at the Northwest Flower and Garden show (evenings of Feb 14 and 15), I will be speaking at Village Books in Bellingham on Wednesday Feb. 11 at 7 PM, and at Swansons in Seattle on Saturday 14 - time TBD. My wife and I are landing in Seattle on Feb 10, departing Feb 16...can't wait!
Any gardeners who may want to pop around and say hello?
This is the book I will be speaking about (and selling and signing)

(51,907 posts)Carefully staggered plantings of Early Girl and Big Early have the same result--a bunch of green tomatoes on September 1st. Even with a greenhouse, beefsteaks just don't appreciate chilly summer nights.

(60,013 posts)as well as shorter season varieties, but mother nature usually trumps our efforts - opposite issue where I am - too hot, too many diseases and critters!
Plenty of interesting stuff around tomatoes aside from growing and eating, though - history, stories, relationship of colors and flavors, etc. enough to fill a book (which I did!)
