5 shot, 1 woman fatally, in Central District, University District, South Seattle

Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole said her detectives were “working around the clock” to investigate a spate of shootings, including one in which a woman was killed, since early Wednesday.

“We are outraged by the gun violence, and neither our department nor our community will tolerate it,” O’Toole said in a statement issued at 11:25 a.m. Thursday.

Shortly after, a 43-year-old man was stabbed in the neck in Rainier Valley and police were asking for help to find a 36-year-old suspect who knew the victim.

The shootings across Seattle — from the University District to Columbia City to a bakery on Rainier Avenue South — have left four people injured and a woman dead, police said.

Accept and deal with the gun violence. This is the U.S., and the guns plus the violence they bring, ain't goin' anywhere.
