Sean Spicer Is Coming to Town for the Washington GOP's Annual Dinner
Sean Spicer has served as a pugnacious, dissembling mouthpiece for American tyranny since the moment he walked up to the podium and lied about the size of Trump's inauguration crowd at his first press briefing. Now he's giving the keynote address at the Washington State Republican Party's 41st Annual Dinner next Wednesday at 6 p.m. And honestly, I can't tell if this is a step up or a step down for him.
The event is designed specifically to swell the campaign coffers of "Republicans like Dino Rossi, Susan Hutchison, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Jaime Herrera Beutler, and our great State Legislators." Tickets are going for $200 to $5,000. Spicer's previous prandial fundraising efforts have brought in as much as $100,000 in a single day.
Spicer's visit gives the evening the eau de Trump without the negative side effects of a full-on presidential visit. Hutchison and McMorris Rodgers have unabashedly supported Trump, but both Rossi and Herrera Beutler have downplayed their support for the president. Rossi, however, voted for Trump as a delegate at the Republican National Convention, and Herrera Beutler has voted with Trump 91 percent of the time. If they win their bids for Congress, they'll fall in line like the rest of the Republicans.
Spicer will be at least the third Trumpian shitlord to stump for Washington politicians in the last few months. Last week, Kellyanne Conway stopped by Spokane to support Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers in her surprisingly competitive race in Washington's 5th Congressional District, and Rep. Devin Nunes fundraised on McMorris Rodgers's behalf during the last week of July.
