Swedish Health Services is cutting hundreds of jobs
Swedish Health Services is cutting more than 540 full-time-equivalent positions as CEO Guy Hudson works to find ways to be more efficient and reduce costs without impacting quality of care.
"Today, I informed all of our caregivers that there will be program and staffing changes that will affect approximately four percent of the overall workforce at Swedish," Hudson said in an announcement Wednesday.
Swedish employee roughly 13,500 people.
Swedish spokeswoman Karrie Spitzer declined to say how many people will be laid off or what programs those positions are part of. Swedish will help employees apply for job openings, of which Swedish has more than 600 that it plans to fill.
