Lime to introduce Fiat cars for Seattle car-share program
Seattle continues to be home to a number of car- and bike-share programs, and this week we'll see a (sort of) new one enter the fold.
Lime, the company behind the bright green LimeBikes you may have seen or ridden around town, is launching four-seated, Lime-branded Fiats this week around Seattle as part of their beta launch of their new automotive program in the city.
Like the bikes, the barrier to entry is relatively low: The pricing will be $1 to unlock the car, and 40 cents per minute of use.
According to a Lime representative, the cars can be driven outside the city of Seattle (where the beta program will initially start), but ultimately must be parked within city limits. The company has said that they believe car-sharing gives people more freedom to move, and so they're expanding their coverage accordingly.
