Seattle tech giants back 7 city innovation projects

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan created the city's first Innovation Advisory Council (IAC) in 2018. The goal was to leverage technology in addressing some of Seattle's ongoing issues like homelessness, affordability, and access to basic services.

The IAC includes city officials and members of major companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Tableau, and Zillow.

The city has now announced 7 projects formed by the IAC and which of Seattle's tech giants are backing each project.

Affordable Housing Search

Project overview: The Affordable Housing Search Tool project will create a centralized way to locate available affordable housing. The search tool will also provide a listing platform for the Housing Connector, specifically for people who are experiencing homelessness and seeking housing through the homelessness system.

Project team: Zillow Group, Loftium, Housing Connector (Hosted by the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce), Seattle Office of Housing, Seattle IT
