UW women's rowing team sweeps NCAA titles

The University of Washington women's rowing team left Indianapolis this morning national champions, sweeping all three of its grand final races on Sunday morning for the second time.

It's the second time in three years that UW swept its way to a title, winning the varsity eight, second varsity eight, and varsity fours over the weekend.

UW's varsity eight beat out Ohio State, Michigan, Texas and Pac-12 rivals like California and Stanford. They finished with 132 points, beating out runner-up Texas (125 points) and third-place Michigan (119).

Washington, who fell to sixth midway through the 2 km race, came into the championships as the fourth seed.
