Showers, thunder in Seattle on Thursday and Friday to give way to warm, sunny weekend

Living for the weekend?

Showers and lightning were possible Thursday and Friday, but they should give way to a sunny, warm weekend for the Seattle area.

An upper-level low was approaching Western Washington from the northwest, the National Weather Service said in its forecast discussion, bringing with it a chance of showers and thunderstorms by Thursday evening. A greater chance of showers and thunderstorms was forecast for Friday.

Highs for Thursday and Friday were expected to stay around the upper 50s to low 60s.
