WV residents worry clear-cutting in national forest is a return to state's destructive past

Kenwardjr Retweeted

NEW: Residents and environmental advocates are concerned the US Forest Service’s plan to clear-cut 3,500 acres of trees will return West Virginia to the days when loggers cut down the state’s trees with abandon.

The US Forest Service will be clear-cutting in the Monongahela National Forest, a departure from decades of preservation.

We spent a lot of time camping and hiking in the Monongahela Natl Forest when I was in college. It’s exquisite and should not be touched!
Clear cutting is not preservation, can’t believe they are trying to claim that.

Sounds like a very bad idea.

"Randy Moore is Chief of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service" and, "organized and coordinated by the United States Department of the Interior (DOI) " So, does that mean Deb Haaland would be ultimately responsible?
