Wisconsin - Mary Burke: I’m a “fiscal conservative”

Because that's the message that's needed to inspire Democratic voters??????

http://bloggingblue.com/2014/05/mary-burke-im-a-fiscal-conservative/

According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Democratic gubernatorial frontrunner Mary Burke called herself a “fiscal conservative” during a meeting on Tuesday with Milwaukee business leaders.

While I understand that calling herself a “fiscal conservative” will win her some votes among moderates and independents, it’s certainly not going to win her many fans among her base, and I’m disappointed that the candidate most likely to end up as the Democratic standard-bearer against Gov. Scott Walker is proud to call herself a “fiscal conservative,” because when I think of fiscal conservatives I don’t think of Democrats who’ll stand up for the middle class – I think of Democrats like Chris Abele, who’s proven he’s certainly no champion of the largely middle class public employees who work for Milwaukee County.

What’s more, when I think of “fiscal conservatives,” I think of Scott Walker and Glenn Grothmann, and if that’s the kind of company Mary Burke wants to be associated with as fellow fiscal conservatives, then I think I’ve officially entered the Twilight Zone.

Well, I guess it's consistent with her other recent statement ...

http://cognidissidence.blogspot.com/2014/05/who-should-apologize.html

BURKE: "In terms of the fiscal picture, there is no doubt that the first budget that introduced and that he implemented significantly improved the financial situation of the state, because the state was coming out of this downturn, in 2008 and 2010, revenues were going down, there were, you know, the structural deficit grew, and basically he got rid of the structural deficit."

It's apparrant to me that the Democratic Party of Wisconsin has been co-opted by the neo-cons.

Ya know, I believe in being fiscally responsible too. It's how we pay for the services the poor need.

Fiscal responsibility begins with bringing in more in revenue than you spend. Which is why we need to raise taxes on the rich, and embrace programs that actually do SAVE money, like the ACA. And it means investing money in things that provide an ROI, like raising people out of poverty, and government-run cash-generating enterprises, like state liquor stores.

Repukes call themselves fiscally conservative, but they only use that dildo to f#ck us and pleasure their rich buddies while opening up the bank vault for their pet projects.

If Mary will use this as an opportunity to yank that "fiscal conservative" dildo out of Wanker's hands and beat him over the head with it, I will host a fundraiser for her myself.
