Scott Walkers office is no longer releasing information about where he stays on out-of-state trips in regularly released calendars of his past activities.
Also on the same calendars, Walkers office is no longer disclosing the names and phone numbers of companies that the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is working with on economic incentive packages.
The decision to withhold those two types of information was disclosed Friday with the release of Walkers daily calendars from June.
According to a statement from the governors legal counsel, the decision to withhold that information was made after applying the balancing test under the states open records law. The test weighs the publics right to government information against any potential harm to the publics interest.
The statement noted the governor has had threats to his safety and stalking incidents in the past, and information about where he has stayed could be used to establish patterns and predict the governors overnight location on future trips.
The information about businesses meeting with WEDC was removed because legal counsel determined releasing the information could wreak havoc with WEDCs mission of retaining and creating quality jobs in the state.

Can't have an informed public because it might weaken the WEDC's stellar performance and smart money management. I hope they let us know when Walker and the WEDC create the quarter-of-a-million jobs they used to talk about.
