Anyone know anything about Mark Harris? He's running for Congress ...

... here in Wisconsin's 6th Congressional District (Oshkosh, Fond du Lac area).

His website describes him as a "fiscally conservative progressive" but fails to mention that he's a Democrat until you get to the fine print at the bottom.

He will be facing teabilly nutjob Glen Grothmann in November.

I know him and his family. He really cares about what he does. I'm afraid he doesn't have a chance though (this is my district and I hope he wins but he would have. To crush on Oshkosh and Fond du Lac.

I am writing in support of Mark Harris for the 6th Congressional District seat being vacated by Tom Petri.

Harris’s accomplishments in Winnebago County show him to be just the kind of moderate, fiscally responsible leader we need representing the district. Harris doesn’t just talk fiscal restraint, he delivers. As Winnebago County executive he has reduced county spending by about 4 percent and overall debt by about 30 percent since 2005. He’s also won re-election twice with higher margins each time. Clearly his constituents approve of the job he’s doing................

SHEBOYGAN – While the winner of the GOP nomination has yet to be determined, the voters in the 6th district can already begin to see a clear choice in this election.

Voters can choose Mark Harris, a solutions based moderate democrat who has a proven record of success as county executive. Harris plans to focus on providing real solutions to the real problems that his constituents face, and is capable of striking compromise between democrats and republicans.

On the GOP side voters may be able to consider Glenn Grothman, a tea-party extremist who has a history of radical and extreme comments that do not represent the values of the 6th district.
