(53,475 posts)When he was Milwaukee County Exec he was running for Governor, and his county staff were supporting that on the taxpayers dime. That's not heresay, there were convictions.
He started running for President that awful day in January 2011 when he was sworn in as Governor.

(39,370 posts)Kept getting busted for smoking pot at McCormick Hall. My grades were good, but, no matter. They had their rules. I'm grateful to Milwaukee because their winters sucked so bad I did junior year in the South of France (for less than I was paying at Marquette) and never came back.
I did know about Walker and Marquette. In another era, I probably would have seen him hanging around those divey bars on Wells on a weeknight.
To think a douche like that could be President. We should kow by now it's possible.

Scott Walker hits Hillary Clinton in RNC speech

CORONADO, Calif. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, addressing GOP officials gathered here for the Republican National Committees winter meeting, launched a fierce broadside Thursday night against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whom he described as as creature of a dysfunctional nations capitol.
She lives in Washington. She works in Washington. She came to Washington through this president and his administration, Walker said of Clinton, whom he described as the all-but-certain Democratic presidential nominee. She was in Washington when she was a United States senator. She was in Washington when her husband was president of the United States. You look at everything that people dislike about Washington, and she embodies it.
Walker, a likely 2016 presidential candidate, was the keynote speaker at the three-day conference. Aside from attacking Clinton, his 35-minute speech also offered a possible preview of how he planned to distinguish himself from his would-be Republican presidential rivals, none of whom he mentioned by name.

....................He spent much of the address highlighting his accomplishments as governor namely his high-profile battle against organized labor and his efforts to reform Wisconsins tax code.
Washington isnt the place with the answers that were looking for, Walker said. I think the states are where we get things done.................

....Walker, speaking Thursday night, itemized a laundry list of conservative policy achievements that he said have strengthened Wisconsin: defeating organized labor, eliminating teacher tenure, securing $2 billion in tax relief, strengthening anti-abortion measures, implementing voter ID, and protecting concealed carry laws, among others.
"Just about everything you can dream of," he said.
Since winning reelection in November, Walker has been maneuvering deliberately into position for a presidential bid. He recently hired former RNC Political Director Rick Wiley to manage his campaign, which is expected to launch in the next two months.
