The MIC 92.1 airs Herr Walker Commerical

I just turned 92.1 THE MIC off forever! They just aired a Herr Walker political commercial and I will not listen to that propaganda from a supposed progressive radio station so GOOD BY TO THE MIC. Don’t let the door hit you on the arse on the way out of my life.

1. This is like the Feingold-trashing ads on Daily Kos

Whenever I saw them I thought it was neat that the right wing was contributing to the support of a liberal website. The more money they waste, the better.

2. I know! I always give those ads a couple clicks

I know! I always give those ads a couple clicks just to make sure as much of their money as possible heads from their accounts into ours. I do the same for the various right-wing ads that used to show up on DU. Click, click, cha-ching, cha-ching. I know money is not fungible, but I imagine spending right-wing dollars on a liberal site feels extra sweet!

3. If I am correct, a station has to air ads as long as they pay.

Back when Proposition 8 was up in California there were a lot of ads on Stephanie Miller's show. She explained that they had to air them as long as they were paid. They laughed about how it was like throwing money down a hole, because they'd spend much more trashing the commercials after they aired.

if one commercial can stop you from supporting the most progressive station in the state then i would have to say they got their money's worth.

channel your anger into getting more signitures or holding a sign
use the anger

5. How does 800 + sigs sound?

I have been out there so much they are calling my wife the 'recall widow'! So I flew off the handle when I heard this commercial the other morning but the truth of the matter is THE MICS commercials and endless repetitive media news has forced me to look for an alternate station.

and sorry if it was taken that way

800 plus is truley amazing
my comment was more to the idea that as progressives we have a bad habit of shooting each other and not the bad guys.
keeping the eye on the prize as it were.
not familair with wort--will have to check it out some time--doubt the tin can radio is my car will pick it up....
i live mostly in ozaukee county. Milwaukee radio wasteland.Except perhaps for wmcs 1190 am...

When i drive west, i know i can pick up 92.1 @ hwy 26. And i welcome it.
it does drive me a little goofy that the times i am most likely to hear the statiion--saturday mornings....
they have on some goldamn home fixit show.
but over the holidays i had to drive out to the dells for a hockey game and actually was able to hear a progressive station
for about an hour going each way to and from the dells.

maybe if i had the chance to listen to 92.1 on a regular basis i would agree with you 100 %
i just wish i had that chance.....

9. The Mic can not deny any political commercial as long as they pay.

It is a protection of free speech rights. I love that they are contributing financially to my favorite radio station anyways. Because I sure don't have the funds to keep them going.

The Mic selling its soul for 30 or so pieces of silver to air a Walker ad is shameful. (My jaw just about hit the floor when I heard such an ad this morning. Again, if a pro-Barack Obama ad appeared on Fox, do you think those viewers would not be apoplectic--even though the ad was paid for?)
