I hope at least 2 or 3 quality progressives do run and then we have a primary to see who the people are behind.

2. Can we talk about platform first - what do we want to accomplish- I hope unions/ Dem party

realize that its the independents/ moderate repubs (who think Walker is too extreme) who will make or break this thing. If we dont bring them along they will stay home, and this will be a rerun of Prosser vs. Kloppenburge ... and as we all know a close election is one that .... COULD BE.... stolen. Not ncessarily, but.... COULD BE.

As a committed, progressive and AFSCME member, at this point I mostly want someone who can find common ground and WORK ACROSS THE DIVIDE - with the moderates I mean. (Not the extremists - they deserve to be marginalized - banished to Siberia!)

And no it does not mean some wishy washy centrist - it just means someone who can creativelytake different angles and synthesize creative solutions. If not Feingold then someone like him who possesses the same kind of out of the box thinking .

I think both Falk and Barrett have too much baggage, too much part of the old Doyle machine, and they both lost statewide elections by good size margins.

It kind of bothers me that I wont get to vote on who will bes endorsed by unions. THIS IS THE TIME when HOW we do it is just as important - if not more so - than WHAT we do. Dont want that "behind closed doors" stuff.

Return to Wisconsin tradition and REPUTATION of open, fair, honest, transparent government is in my top 10 of what's important.

would also include the whole Walker/radical right agenda of pushing thru legislation that benefits corporate donors and cronies, at the expense of the ordinary working folks of Wisconsin (elimination of collective bargaining falls under this heading).

If she decides to run, I really believe she could be a great Governor for years to come.

is over.

The state is still VERY deeply divided and we need to get that Capitol back, get back the Senate and then get this state back on track by showing these assholes how it's done.

In my opinion.

but neither one of those are likely to run. Then who? Barrett? Kohl? I think we can win with a down-to-Earth, honest candidate like Kathleen Vinehout. She would present a stark contrast to the smarmy, businessman-politician Walker. I really believe the voters would find her to be a breath of fresh air. The key to getting a lesser-known candidate elected would obviously be a strong ad campaign, and a good showing in any public forum. I know that she would be up to the task, if she decided to run. The downside of this possibility is 1) She is not well-known throughout the state, and we'd really have to be aggressive in getting her out there. 2) She was one of the "Heroic 14", which is great in the eyes of us progressives, but might not look so great to the moderates, who have been pounded by the media as to how "wrong" the Dems were to leave the state. I know we'll end up with a great candidate, I just feel very strongly about Kathleen, as she is fantastic, and she is not even the Senator of my district- Terry Moulton is (for the moment).

Everyone respects him so much. He is the best living legislator Wisconsin has ever produced and we need him now.
