election. Conservatives in power in the Ontario Provincial election. Doug Ford is Premier elect. They ran without a platform or a press bus. Rob Ford's - mid level hash dealer in high school - brother.

7. He'll cut. He'll not self destruct. He was a dealer not a consumer of drugs. Everyone

else in his family was addicted. But not him. He'll destroy the guaranteed income experiment and cut money from schools and hospitals to destroy those systems. The last time there was a conservative government in Ontario they cut the amount people on welfare could have to spent on rent in their first two weeks in office. People had to give up their apartments and move into rooming houses within months. They were all about shock treatment and social engineering. My local French speaking hospital that I go to will probably be closed.

I voted strategically too. I come from a deep blue riding. I wish that meant what most people on DU would think it means. Blue in Canada = bad. Ford is such a Trump parrot.

I have no doubt Jill Dunlop will win North Simcoe. Been blue since 1999. You're right that they had no platform. Nothing but bravado. They got elected on anti-Wynne campaigning and nothing else. It even looks as if they want to pursue investigating a her.

I'm absolutely seething.

I have to look up a lot of names when I go into GD, I don't know all of the names that crop up there. If I browse other international forums, same thing. Google is handy for that.

Sad, disgusted, horrified, angry, fearful, worried....the wheel is turning towards conservatism again. Ontario this year, AB next year and then federally...

I was feeling nostalgic for ON and even considered moving back to my home province, but obviously this has put the kaibosh on any dreams. He will be a disaster for the province.

15. Well I think police and lgtbq should meet for discussions because in this

world lgtbq people need to be protected from hate crimes and serial killers. I'm sure this statement from Ford is all about stirring the pot and playing to his base. That is why he did it so vocally instead of seeking to heal old wounds quietly.
