Chilcot is out, and ALL those who tried to prevent the war have been proven right.

Robin Cook, Stop The War, Tony Benn, Charles Kennedy, Jeremy(then AND now), and the hundreds of thousands who stood with them in the face of derision and slander from the leadership of Labour AND the Tories.

Blair and the remnants of his cult left in disgrace and oblivion.

All remaining MPs who backed the war need to do the decent thing and resign.

The dead and their families are owed a massive apology.

The saddest result of the 2015 election was Kennedy's defeat and his tragic death from despair soon after.

but he was treated shamefully in his later years. I won't forget his intelligent contributions at the time.

A broken heart can do that to a person.

Perhaps this will give his spirit some small comfort, wherever it is now.

I think he was horribly treated for a long time, not least by his own party, and who knows to what extent it might have made the problem worse. But most politicians, who suffer from political reverses and lose elections, do not die as a result - look at your Jimmy Carter, still alive and active in his 90s.

This I know, even when drunk he was more perceptive than Clegg sober.

to what I've said many a time in the privacy of my own home: "I'd take Charlie Kennedy pissed over any number of the bastards sober."

It was a disease for him. Very sad, but not something to be ashamed of in his memory.

But not better than the feeling of avoiding the war altogether. What a mess Blair, * and all who voted for war made. Death, disease, destruction and refugees. ....surprise.

It's not just about being proven right...it's about making sure the politicians take the lesson.
