Simon Hoggart wrote a column in the Grauniad years ago in which he said that all politicians need The Ability To Be Taken Seriously (or TABS for short). For example, Mrs T had loads of it, as did Dennis Healey. Sir Keith Joseph was like a black hole for TABS. It just vanished never to be seen again.

I would venture that Mr Romney has a similar problem. It doesn't matter what his image makers do. As soon as he appears in person he is a TABS free zone and any TABS vacuum is instantly filled with mockery.

If there were an Upper Class Twit event at the Olympics, he would win the gold medal, leaving even Davy with only the silver.

Hasn't been his week has it? Showed that he's total shit at diplomacy, which is a major fail for a presidential candidate, and then came the opening ceremony celebrating universal healthcare just to rub it all in!

Maybe he's hired Aidan Burley as his UK special adviser?
