The defence offered by Johnson’s few honest apologists has always been that his utter unsuitability for office was negated by electoral popularity & mitigated by the calibre of personnel he surrounded himself with. If the second bit continues to fall apart, the first can’t hold.

had any "honest apologists". But then I am enjoying what Dominic Cummings is putting
