Everyone who owns a home worth £1?million or more will be targeted in a new anti-affluence crackdown by the Coalition.
A beefed-up squad of computer and legal experts will pore over their property, savings and income. If they think the individual is not paying enough tax, they will have the power to knock on their front door and force them to account for every penny.
The move is part of a tax-dodging purge on the rich forced through by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

Also, it is being exaggerated here by the very right-wing and sensational 'Daily Mail'. No one is going to knock on a rich tax-dodger's door and demand all their accounts, without due legal process!

(14,737 posts)....Even if George Osborne does agree to taxing the rich a bit more (which is in itself unlikely) then the chances are that backbench Tories would bring the nproposals down much as they did with Lord's reform.
Clegg appears to be back in the business of making empty promises he cannot keep.
