Peter Bone's Prime Minister Replacement Bill fails to progress

http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2013-14/primeministerreplacement.html

The Bill was not moved for debate on 28 February 2014. The order to read the Bill a second time lapsed. There is no indication when the Bill will progress further.

So the queen will always appoint the new PM if the current one dies or is killed. Bone fails.

Not that Clegg was ever going to be PM anyway.

Interesting that no one bothered with such things in the mid-80s (when there really had just been a serious attempt to assassinate the PM and her Cabinet) but it suddenly assumes importance to such as Bone when he imagines there may be a possibility of the LibDems replacing Tories.
