Knock on my door yesterday. Nicely dressed very young woman who was maybe tops 25. Hi, my names is Susan. Are you planning on voting this Tuesday? Yes. Do you know where your polling place is? Yes. It's down the road at the Firehouse. Yes. What time do you plan on voting? Early Morning. Good. Would you like a sign to hang on your door? Sure. All the sign said was, "VOTE" with Red, White, and Blue Stars. Thank you for voting and have a nice day. She walked away.
I am 70 and was totally stunned by this. She never endorsed a particular candidate or political party. She never asked for a dime, including for that sign. Who says Millennials don't give a damn?
I live in PA's new 8th District.

(34,661 posts)Another false narrative being peddled by corporate Media in order to cancel out their votes. Have been working with mostly Tweenie and so called millennial folks for the last six weeks on getting out to vote. If is was not for the kids, our Voter Registration efforts would have sucked big time. People are surprised when they see a Senior teamed up with someone who could be their Grand Kid knocking on doors.
The Group I phone bank with is run by a couple of College Kids who took time off from their Education in order to promote our Democratic Party and get Democrats Elected. One from Kansas and another from Virginia, the rest are UNLV Students who have taken the first Semester off as part of their Poly Sci and Communications Studies program.

Most of the young people I meet thrill me.
I do regret the world my generation is leaving theirs however. They deserved more than our shortsighted destruction of the entire planet.
