2020 CO US Senate Election- Betsy Markey-D vs Cory Gardner-R?

Betsy Markey-D was elected to the US House of Representative from CO-4cd in 2008 against right-wing Republican incumbent Marilyn Musgrave by a 12 percent margin(56-44). CO-4 was a Republican leaning swing district during the 2000 which included Fort Collins. Markey-D lost re-election in the 2010 Republican wave to Cory Gardner-R by a 11 percent margin(41-52).
Betsy Markey-D and Cory Gardner-R both ran for statewide office in the 2014 Republican wave. Markey-D ran for Treasurer against Walker Stapleton-R and lost to Stapleton-R by a 5 percent margin(45-50). Gardner-R ran for the US Senate against Mark Udall-D and defeated Udall-D by a 2 percent margin(46-48).
If Betsy Markey-D and Cory Gardner-R were to face each other again in 2020, Betsy Markey-D is favored to win by a narrow to high single digit margin. 2020 is a Presidential Election Year. Trump-R will lose CO by a margin greater than 5 percent but less than 10 percent margin. Betsy Markey-D will benefit from the 2020 Democratic Presidential Nominee's coattails.
Betsy Markey-D also served in the US Department of Homeland Security from 2011 to 2013.

Coffman-R lost in 2018 to Jason Crow-D by a 11 percent margin.
Romanoff-D lost in a 2014 Republican wave in a Democratic leaning swing Congressional district against a sitting Republican incumbent by a 9 percent margin. Markey-D lost re-election in 2010 Republican leaning swing Congressional district by a 11 percent margin and lost in the 2014 Republican wave for Treasurer by a 5 percent margin.
Jason Crow-D(CO-6) or Joe Neguse-D(CO-2) can run for the US Senate and Romanoff-D can run to suceed Crow-D in CO-6 and Markey-D can run to suceed Neguse-D in CO-2. Markey's hometown in Fort Collins is in CO-2.
Defeated 2018 Democratic Gubernatorial candidates Cary Kennedy-D and Mike Johnston-D each received around 1/4 of the popular vote in the Democratic primary.
Crisanta Duran-D needs to do well outside the city of Denver.

3. Cary Kennedy-D,Crisanta Duran-D,or Jena Griswold-D among female candidates.

Cary Kennedy-D was narrowly elected CO Treasurer in 2006 Democratic wave then was narrowly defeated from the CO Treasurer office in the 2010 Republican wave. Kennedy-D ran for CO Governor in 2018 but lost in the Democratic primary to Jared Polis.
Other potential high profiled female US Senate candidates from CO is Crisanta Duran, the outgoing Speaker of CO House of Representatives or Jena Griswold, the incoming CO Secretary of State. Griswold can pull a Jason Hawley(R-MO) and run for the US Senate less than 2 years after getting elected to a low level statewide office.
CO needs a female US Senator. CO has not had one.
