Whomever it is, it is going to be a long haul

Final filing date is early December. If Eduardo decides to run for POTUS, he will have to give up his Senate Seat, because he can't be on the ballot for more than one office. Then it will be a knock down drag out fight for the Republican nomination.

We have some real doozies down here who would drop everything to run for an open seat. There would probably be a dozen in that primary, and if they are members of the US House or State Lege, they would also have to choose between running for POTUS or re-election.

If I were in Eduardo's position I would wait it out until 2028. If he waits, he won't have to give up his Senate Seat to run for POTUS.

At this point it is hard to say whether he will be challenged by other Republicans in their primary.
