RNC hints the nominee will be Cruz
Prepare for it- if Trump doesn't win outright, Cruz will be the nominee. The question will be whether that will be the end of the Republican Party

1. The end?
While that would be the best thing to happen to the human race in a long time, even if it does end, it will be replaced with something else, something even uglier.

2. I wonder what it would take
to get those blue collar republicans to rejoin the Democratic Party... They've already realized they've been getting hosed by their own party for decades. Trickle down economics? It will be interesting to watch the debacle

3. The ones I talk to still believe in trickle down.
When Reagan told Americans to hate the American government, it had a very lasting and devastating effect.

waiting in the wings...

5. I think we have to wait for the racists and bigots to stop reproducing, etc.
The only way to keep someone tied to the R party when you arent rich is to use your fears and bigotry.
Hopefully each generation produces less and less people like that. I like having like minded, good people like yourself and others here to talk to, keeps me sane. ![]() |

10. i have found that though the odds go up on children inheriting thier parents prejudices
and inability to join the human race such as it is, that doesn't always mean free spirited spiritual lovers of Mother Earth and all things living will find thier offspring does not take after mother and father, not always...
Our genetic makeup in reality comes from a small gene pool so one cannot discount the odds of producing a child free of prejudices, bigotry and greed somewhere in the family tree that will find a way to reproduce.. I have 4 children, 2 believe as I believe, 2 believe as thier father believes, I stupidly thought I had the ability to erase such flaws as I call them, once believing in the inert goodness of mankind was worth believing in, but no longer, we failed to evolve. I agree, this place helps to remain somewhat sane even if we don't always agree🤗 |

11. I also think community, neighborhood friends, school friends, etc., can really
make a difference.
Reminds me of this off beat show on HULU called "The Path" starring Aaron Paul of "Breaking Bad", one story line has the teenage son of the cult leader wanting to be normal and hang with a girl, and how the kids at school are effecting his thinking. |

12. True, social surroundings play an important part of ones growth but as you just said
it doesn't always insure these children grow into fine adults...I really feel genes play an important part in ensuring a certain survival of its roots in humanitys beginnings...
Never saw the Path, sounds interesting... |

14. Cruz and his campaign manager Jeff Roe are a really dangerous mix
Trump is nothing compared to what those two will do to the people of this country.
Roe belongs in jail for a long line of thing he has been involved in. |

15. Good point. Trump is a demagogue but
his only agenda is self-aggrandizement; he doesn't have a definable political ideology. His awfulness derives mainly from his ability to whip up his followers' hate and racism. Cruz does have an agenda, which is the furtherance of a really nasty sort of religion-based ultraconservatism. I also think he's probably smarter than Trump. However, there's something so repellent about him that I really think he'll crash and burn in the GE if he gets that far. He creeps out almost everybody but his hard-core supporters.
