Has anyone here tried soap nuts?

Soap nuts have been on my radar on and off for some time, and hoped I could get user reactions among DUers (who I trust more than Amazon reviewers).

It seems the only way to find out if I like them is to buy some. They certainly seem preferable even to making one's own laundry detergent from one of the recipes found here at DU.

If you try them, let us know what you think, and I'll do the same!
