Question about a sig pic.

Today, someone's sig pic displayed a NSFW photo (multiple sig pics, only one was NSFW). I knew something was up, so I pm'd the poster. The poster did not see the same image as I did, so I pm'd him/her a screen shoot. No one said anything to him/her regarding the pic publicly or privately. I scanned my computer with two programs, no problems (I have never had any viruses, and I use AdBlock and NoScript). All of the photos started with https://pbs.twimg.com.

How does this happen?
