FYI - I just installed windows 10 free upgrade, Offer ends July 29, 2016.

The latest version of windows 10 (Use Media Creation Tool to download) lets you do a clean install and use your old win7 product key without having win7 installed first. My student discount win7 pro upgrade I got for $29, the product key activated win10 pro just fine

You can Clean install the free Upgrade without needing to Upgrade first using Fall Update version 1511 bootable media now available in Media Creation Tool. Skip Product Key during install then activate after install with your Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 Product Key.

Download Media Creation Tool to create bootable installation media for your computer

Win 10 works extremely good with my UEFI based motherboard. For me win10 seems to work better then win 7 and win10 interface much better than win8 .

Nothing, of course, is perfect, but I have had very few problems and keep finding new neat stuff in there.

Upgraded two win7's to 10 with zero problems.
All my apps and data still in place and use-able.
