I recently got a network drive, and it's turned my Kindle Fire into a jukebox.

Needless to say, the sound is not that great.

Does there exist any kind of receiver/speaker that hooks into the network drive by WIFI? I've looked a bit and not yet seen anything.

Been having the same problem figuring out how to play my music on thumb drives when I don't have a putrer where I want to listen to music.

But I DO have a Nook that plays my loaded drives of music..

Now to find out how to Bluetooth...a foreign concept to me...

4. Well really when it comes to music

Storing it these days makes little sense.

Spotify will let you play damn near anything you could want for free. If you are willing to pay a few bucks a month there are several services out there that will let you play damn near anything with no adds from any connected device.

I personally have a Google family plan that for $15 a month lets every one in my family have their own music available with no adds and comes with the added benefit of removing YouTube adds.

Pair one of those services with a blue tooth speaker and you are set when it comes to music.

Mine even plays in my car from my phone. I haven't turned on the radio in my car in over a year.

You grew up before the internet, have always had a lot of music, and have ripped everything that you purchased on CD. (And most of what you purchased on vinyl.)

Plus, believe me, there are some great things you can't get any way but vinyl. And some great movies you can't get any way but VHS or non-US DVD. And at least one you can't get any way except having recorded it off TV.

9. Oh I think you might be surprised by what is actually available on the net.

Also you can upload all of those files to many different services and have them available from any connected device anywhere. Google music for example allows you to upload 50k of your own songs, Apple has a similar program.

I do understand the connection to personal libraries though.

Seems like all the Bluetooth speakers I've seen are battery, and I wanted something to plug in and leave on a shelf.

We have the smaller travel one and it has a wireless charging pad it sits on in the kitchen. when we want to take it with us we just pick it up and go and it is always charged otherwise it just sits on that wireless pad.

For you the larger one might be a better choice though the versatility of the small one is nice.

The sound on bose speakers is always good.

They are a little pricey but we are quite happy with the one we have. There are many alternatives out there these days if that is a little too pricey for the budget you had in mind for it.

It plugs into the wall (and can be left so), and has an actual physical on/off switch.
