small footprint and updates with windows update. Free for windows 7.

It has the smallest footprint and does a satisfactory job.

Add a Malwarebyte sub to it and you should be good.

I recommend eset.com - It's a lean program. Not bloated. It installs quick. I've installed it 100's of times for my clients.

Why would anyone trust Kaspersky and McAffee? Consider using Ghostery and ABP.

over the last decade and they were not all nasties that originated in Russia.

Their CEO was removed by Putin during the election furore and I don't know why.

Ghostery is good for removing advertisers and trackers but it's not an antivirus. MacAfee
in combination with Windows AV is fine for home systems. I dumped Symantec years ago because it made the computer run like shit when it updated, and it updated a lot.

renewal the end of May. They wanted 110 for renewal. Didn't say for how many years.

You can use it on 4 machines. My IT guy at work recommended it. Haven't gotten any nasty viruses in the years I've been using.

Bitdefender Total Security. You can find discounts for both products. Don't cut corners on Security Software specially in these times. Do your updates each and every day.
