(Possibly dumb) iPod Nano question

I hope this is the right forum for this question. I've been poking around Apple sites and other places on the Nets but have not found a straight answer to what I need to know.

I have a 16GB Nano, which has nothing but music on it. I'm getting close to capacity, and if I want to add more music, I have to deselect or delete songs that I would rather keep on the Nano. I don't want to upgrade to an iPod Classic because 1) it's bulky; 2) it does not have radio; and 3) it does not have the Fitness feature that I use on the Nano on almost a daily basis. I can't justify the expense since it doesn't have what I use/need.

I'm thinking about getting another Nano, and I need to know if there is a way to put additional content on the new Nano without losing the content on the old Nano. Someone told me that setting up a new Web e-mail account that Apple could access would do the trick. That makes sense, but I just want to be sure before I plop down bucks getting a new Nano.

You can have an entirely separate music download sync list for one than the other.

I have a nano, an iphone and an ipod touch... I have different sync settings for each. I don't know why two nanos would be any different. Just make sure you name each something different... even if it is "Angry Old Dem's" primary and Angry Old Dem's" secondary nano

A new 16-gig touch-screen one I got for Christmas, and an older rectangular one with the touch-wheel and buttons on it, 2-gig capacity.

I filled up the old one with Bill Cosby and Weird Al and gave it to my son. My iTunes does not have any problem working with two different iPods.

There's an option on for the iPod to "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC". This could free up a few gigs of space on the iPod.

Definitely check the option to down-convert; you won't get quality worthy of more than 128K out of iPod earphones.

Itunes can work with multiple Ipods. So you can keep different and/or overlapping content on each one as you want. No need to setup a "new Web e-mail account".
