My Youtube videos are stopping and starting and adobe is crashing alot
I don't know how to fix it and it is very annoying. It seems as if it works better when I first start watching but after a few videos they get worse and worse.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

(27,509 posts)Make sure the fan is working properly.
Just like Fukushima, computers get really hot and need proper cooling or bad things happen.
Also, as electronic components age, they can become heat sensitive and require additional cooling.

(5 posts)Adobe recently released an update for their Flash player which included "improvements in performance" in their words. I would update to the latest version.
Regarding the start-stop issue, does it occur when you interchange between full screen and normal mode? This is due to the automatic change in quality of the video. When you go in full-screen mode, the quality is increased automatically and YT switches to the higher quality stream available which results in a temporary stop of playback while the new stream is loaded.

(22,474 posts)It seems as if sometimes if I move my mouse I can get things moving again. It's a pain to continually move the mouse to try and watch a program.
But after I wrote this last night I went back to small screen and didn't have a problem. That's not to say I've never had a problem in small screen.
I'm looking for the adobe update now.

(47,675 posts)I rarely run into this, but if I find that Firefox is using more than about 340K (it's at 341 right now - quite high from the usual 212), just a simple shutdown (of the browser) and restart will usually solve the problem. It's the plug-in, not the browser, regardless of which one you use. Also, Windows Media Player (wmplayer.exe) should not be running if you aren't viewing anything. That will both tie up removable drives and the browser. It's always safe to nuke that one from the task manager.

(8,021 posts)Something is screwed up, and it seems to manifest as different symptoms on different platforms. I have some minor behavior problems that I can't seem to resolve.
Make sure Firefox and the Flash plug-in are up to date.

(9,314 posts)Flash back to the previous version. I started having trouble with FF and Flash when Flash updated. I'm now using 10.3 r183 without any problems.
