Need some web page help - SQL and WordPress maybe?

I have a bunch of people who need to update data on my web page, but I need them to put in some stuff that doesn't go to the webpage (just the database), AND I need to make sure I can edit it before it posts. A friend suggested the SQL/Wordpress combo.

Thoughts?
