Flash player headaches

Adobe Flash Player quit working after the last update. I've since downloaded it a dozen times and tried several of the proposed tweaks and fixes found in various internet threads, but none of them helped. It works fine in Chrome, where it's integrated into the browser, but I don't like Chrome. For some reason it just doesn't want to play with Windows-7. Adobe seems to have created a fish that doesn't like water.

Meaning, you've deleted any Flash-related files on your hard drive and rebooted ? If you have, my bad.

The issue seems to lie between Flash Player and IE-9, since it works with other browsers. And some videos will play despite the warning that i need to update Flash. I've wasted several hours on this latest cockup, which is not the result of anything i've done. It just makes me tired.

Had this problem with Firefox's "Ad Block" suddenly denying Adobe Flash. Had to disable the "AdBlock" add on to get Flash to work. One "help site" said that many of the different "Ad Blocks" people use had started to deny the latest Adobe versions of Flash. Firefox users were at that time having the biggest problem.
