Does anyone know an easy way to search Usenet?

I am looking for the a poem that someone was talking about in a thread that posted on a newsgroup. I was able to retrieve it when we had Dejanews to use, but, that, of course, does not exist anymore.

I need an advance search. Two keywords and a date range. I didn't see anything like that when I tried. I will keep trying.

Did you capture the two images while clicking and create the gif on the fly or did you have to capture them and open them in a regular graphics program (Fireworks, Photoshop, Gimp, etc)?

I had nothing to do with creating the gif,
I just put the link to it in my post and the DU message board software made it display inline.

Search Terms

Using search terms is a helpful way to more easily narrow down your search results. Insert a search term in the search field and then type the rest of your query. Notes:

- A topic is made up of the original message and reply messages.

- Searches with “email” variables only work if you are searching within a group where you have the "view member emails" permission, or if you are searching within a domain set to "Private" under Sharing Options for Google Groups for Business.

Following is a list of search terms:

after:YYYY/MM/DD

Include only messages created after the YYYY/MM/DD date. For example, after:2011/11/02.

<snip big list of options>

Tip: You can also reverse a particular search term by putting a '-' in front of it. For example, the search author:me -category:example will return topics authored by you that are not in the " example" category.
