I want to buy an Apple laptop. What would you recommend?

Sick of Windows and Microsoft crap. My laptop always on the fritz.

I have an iPhone, but other than that, I'm completely at sea with Apple products.

3. It's the old story, what do you want to do with it?

Mostly at home with just occasional travel? Heavy graphics/or number crunching? Get the hot rod fast with big memory.
Mostly travel with emails and internet? get the air...
Like I said what do you want to do with it? You can always go down to the apple store and talk with a person there and get some ideas, they are usually great... Also you get included service and "how do I do this" questions answered for a year... I switched years ago and have never looked back.
One thing about the mac is sometimes it's too simple. Coming from windows I would be looking for a complicated answer when it was right there in front of me... Like when you hear the sound of hoof beats, don't go looking for zebras....

Yeah, I only use it for email, google, DU (of course), social media. Not a gamer at all.

I do travel a lot, and I'll be in Europe next year quite a bit.

7. iPad or Air

I'd recommend an iPad if that is literally all you use it for. If you definitely want a laptop, given what your uses for it look like, I'd recommend the Air.

8. Save yourself a ton on money. Go to gainsaver.com and build a recondiitoned Mac...

with as much memory and add-ons you want. I'm inputing this from a Mac from them right now.

I bought a referb iMac one year. It worked fine for about 6 mos and then I had a minor problem. Took it to the Apple store and they had it for a few days. Brought it home and after a day it screwed up again. Went back to the apple store and the manager said "give him a new one" right then and there. . They have my loyalty from then on...

12. Just bought a Apple Mac Book for the

Grand Daughter to use in College this Fall. Been a Windows user and wow,talk about lightning fast. Pricey compared to Dell or HP,but for hassle free you can not beat it.

Yes,Apple has refurbished with the same warranty as new and the savings is fantastic.

17. Picked up the Laptop at our local Apple store.

For this Old Guy,the Kids at the Store took the time to make sure I could operate the darn thing. The one nice Lady spent over a hour making sure I could make the darn thing work without throwing it against a wall in frustration.

The Student(Grand Daughter),just down loaded her complete First Semester UNLV on Tuesday Morning at her meeting with her Advisor. No more dragging tons of text books around Campus.

19. If you have any problems you can make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar.

Every Apple store has a panel of "geniuses" who can advise you and schedule repairs.
You make an appointment online for particular store at a specific time.

My daughter once had a problem with her laptop after a year or so.
She took it in and they replaced her whole motherboard for free.
She dropped it off at the store and a few days later her repaired laptop was delivered to our home.

Another person, I heard, went to get a replacement battery for his several years old laptop.
The Apple store guy said they were out of that particular battery and don't have a date when new ones will be delivered so they gave him a whole new laptop, current model, for the price of the battery installation.

The Apple stores are great and they are everywhere in the world.
If you're in Japan or China you can take it to the Apple store there for the same service.

Apple products are more expensive but they are very reliable and have stellar service if you have problems.
