Statement by the President on the Retirement of Congressman Brad Miller

Brad Miller has served the people of North Carolina for two decades. In the House of Representatives, Brad helped lead the fight to protect families from abuses by the financial industry, and is a key reason why today we finally have a strong watchdog in place looking out for American consumers. Michelle and I thank Brad for his service, and wish him the very best in the future.

If the last two years should have any lesson, it's the paramount importance of controlling the House of Representatives.

Very frustrating situation. He was double-bunked with David into a redrawn 4th District (crammed with all of the D's) on purpose by the new GOP controlled General Assembly, who hate Brad for his work against Bank of America. David got the NC Dem establishment support because he's less threatening.

An impartial board of retired State Supreme Court judges is really the way to go on redistricting...we finally got it done in CA and the map almost makes sense!
