I hear rumors the MD Governor Larry Hogan is

considering a run for the US Senate.
If Hogan wants to run for the US Senate, He will have an easier time in 2024. It will likely be an open seat(Ben Cardin is a retirement possibility) and the Democratic nominee is probably going to be Anthony Brown. The Hogan vs Brown 2024 MD US Senate race will be similar to the 2012 HI US Senate race between Lingle-R vs Hirono-D.

In 2002 HI Governors Race, Lingle narrowly defeat the sitting Lt Governor Hirono. Hirono then got elected to the US House of Representatives in 2004. In 2012 when Dan Akaka decided to retire from the US Senate, Lingle and Hirono both decided to run against each other again. Hirono defeated Lingle by a 25 percent margin.

Brown(D-MD) will defeat Hogan(R-MD) in the 2024 MD US Senate Race by a landslide margin.

I would also like to see MA Governor Charlie Baker run for the US Senate in 2026 against Ed Markey. Running in 2026 will force Baker to give up the MA governorship. Who is an easier target for Baker, Warren in 2024 or Markey in 2026?

If VT Governor Phil Scott decides to run for the US Senate, It will be when either Leahy or Sanders decide to retire. Who is going to retire or die first? Leahy or Sanders? Both of these men are in their 80s.
