The 2019 VA Political crisis of Northam,Fairfax, and Herring was a factor in 2021 .
Northam had a picture in his medical school yearbook of a person blackfaced and in a klan outfit.
Fairfax was accused of sexual assault.
Herring wore blackface at a college dorm party.
McAuliffe was never popular with the grassroots of the VA Democratic Party.
The Republican Party of VA won all 3 of the statewide elections in 2021 by a very narrow margin despite the 2019 scandals involving Northam,Fairfax,and Herring.
