Today I am so grateful for this group
and all of you here. It means a lot to have our little safe haven where we can post pictures or threads about Obama singing an Al Green song.
Mostly I'm happy that this group is politically active. Those of you who are already doing GOTV work, I'm proud of you! Thank you for telling your stories. They inspire us all.
I'll be going to an OFA phone bank this weekend at a house near where I live. And you know what's so great? I'm meeting other committed Democrats in my area, people who share my concerns and goals. This is a very, very Republican county. Without the phone banking it can feel pretty lonely for Democrats here. I'm hoping to meet some other women who like to hike, too, since hiking alone in the mountains is never a good idea. And yes, I've been guilty of doing that more often than I'll ever admit.
Anyway, I was just thinking of how much I get out of working for Obama and other Democrats. It's definitely more than I give. Happy campaigning everyone!

I'm always surprised when people like what I write. 
I have seen this smiley before and never known what the hell its purpose is so I thought I'd post it here because it's cute and I'd never get another reason to do so.
I can pretend it's Jimmy Page until I put him back as my Avatar.
I used to do all this stuff with my sons, but they're grown and gone from home now. So every once in a while I succumb to temptation, but with LOTS of preparation beforehand.
Still, even then I shouldn't and I know it. So please, please let me find some other adventuress to hike with.

I just don't understand why some "supporters" feel that every nook & cranny of DU has to be infested with negative crap. I realize that some people have an aversion to "groups", but if you know that, why would you want to join one?
There are a million sites out there, dedicated to negativity, and even one that is dedicated to the destruction of DU (particularly this group), so it's not like there aren't choices.
I am so happy to have found this group! There is so much really, really POSITIVE and enthusiastic energy here that it just oozes out of this computer! So many people so committed and energized. So many really cool people who really get it! Thank you so much,DevonRex, for all you continue to do. I'll be with you all the way. Peace!
