Not climbing, but down in the valley.

I tell ya when you stand near the bottom and look at El Cap, you just go ... NO F***ING WAY ... I cannot believe anyone could scale that beast of a rock. It shoot up like damn near 90 degrees, it looks very sheer, and good LORD is it tall. Looks like about 2000 feet tall at least. (edit: from article it's 3200 feet ... yeah ... I believe it).

Blows my mind a human can scale it. What an incredible feat of endurance, skill, and strength.

to the climber hope they recover okay.

Lunch with my mom at the majestic Ahwanee (YAY, the Ahwanee is back!) Dining Room is more my speed

And enjoying the spectacular sights safely from the Valley floor ... man was it a beautiful day that day

El Capitan is mind-blowing. This woman had equipment, I can't believe people trying to free climb.

Yosemite is wondrous, especially when its not filled with tourists......the trails, the waterfalls, the mountains. Our hotel room had a river burbling along right under our balcony.

I mean, it's amazing anytime, but winter (with snow) and late spring (when all the falls are bursting and the Merced is fully flowing) are my faves.

My folks have a house about 1 hr from the Valley, been in the family for 30 years, so ... I've been there a lot.
