WTF is the matter with parents like these? Don't they know that they're not doing their little darlings any favors by trying to cheat? Instead of a rhinestone crown, she's gonna get a mugshot and a police record. Awesome.

Is it just me or do these things seem to happen in Florida and Texas more often than in other states?

Wow, I just clicked on the article from Pensacola and they're not playing around with the charges:

Both Carroll and Grover have been charged with one count of each of the following crimes:

Offenses against users of computers, computer systems, computer networks and electronic devices (third-degree felony)
Unlawful use of a two-way communications device (third-degree felony)
Criminal use of personally identifiable information (third-degree felony)
Conspiracy to commit these offenses (first-degree misdemeanor)
