I know there's a lot of talk of Deb Haaland, currently a U.S. Representative from NM, being named as Secretary of the Interior. We shouldn't lose her from the House, and Udall is retiring from the Senate.

Unfortunately. And I say that because 1, she should stay in Congress, and 2, Udall would make an excellent Secretary of the Interior.

But if Tom is retiring from public service, Mark is another option. Both are very dedicated to environmental issues.

Tom has. He's not really retiring from public service. He simply chose not to run again for the Senate, after serving two terms. He still plans to stay involved in stuff.

I was pleased to have several conversations with Mark when he was my senator, and his staff was always available and helpful to constituents. His campaign was hideously mismanaged, which is why we wound up with Gardner. There are many of us who would welcome his return to public service should he ever decide to take that route. Just sayin'.

And I apologize for misunderstanding and being argumentative.

He should return to public service.

I've met his cousin Tom several times, having done some volunteer work for his campaign when he first ran for the Senate in 2008. He always remembers me and my name when he sees me, which I find impressive. I know that politicians meet hundreds and thousands of people.
