Democracy for America Endorses Rob Zerban for Congress (WI-01)

Released: Oct 9, 2012 3:44 PM

For Immediate Release: October 9th, 2012

Burlington, VT Today, Democracy for America (DFA), endorsed Rob Zerban for Congress. Zerban is the right choice for Wisconsin -- he has vowed to protect Medicare and Social Security, protect reproductive rights, and stand up to any plan that would harm our seniors. Hell be a valued addition to the House and is a strong alternative to Tea Party hero and Mitt Romney Vice-Presidential candidate Paul Ryan.

"Rob has a tenacity to finish what he started and to do it the right way, said Jim Dean, Chair of DFA. Hes not only a job creator he made sure his employees had family sustaining wages, excellent benefits, and healthcare, but Robs also a practical guy who stands by his word. He refuses to support a budget or any plan to destroy Medicare and Social Security and voters can believe in him.

Rob Zerban responded to the DFA endorsement with enthusiasm:

Rob Zerban: Im honored to be endorsed by Democracy for America and their Wisconsin members. Im running for Congress because I believe the people of Wisconsin deserve a representative who will fight to preserve Social Security and Medicare, not budget them out of existence like Paul Ryan would. I pledge to fight for fair economic policies that put the middle class and working families first not last. And with the help of DFA members, we will continue to hold Paul Ryan accountable and educate Wisconsinites about his disastrous budget plan to destroy Medicare and his extremist efforts to roll back progress for women, seniors, and working families.

Democracy for America is the people-powered Democratic Political Action Committee. With over one million members nationwide, DFA is a grassroots powerhouse working to change our country and the Democratic Party from the bottom-up.
