When Bill Clinton was in the White House
The right wing came up with some bullshit attacks. Several of these right wing creations, were directed against Hillary.
One of these involved investment in Cattle futures. Now any so-called "wrong-doing" on Hillary's part was thoroughly debunked as conspiracy theory. (Hillary was the victim and the favorite of many a conspiracy theory truth to tell. Largely Ineffective even with Bill giving them a real scandal) Hillary was accused of many things by the right wing. The cattle futures one wasn't the most ridiculous--that would the speculations about her sexuality--but it was patently stupid. We live in interesting times. http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511748858 A few years old, but an interesting read http://mediamatters.org/research/2013/07/30/fox-turns-to-20-year-old-debunked-conspiracy-th/195136

1. The new attack is "release your transcripts!"
No candidate, certainly no male, has ever been asked to do this in our history. Now she's expected to give in to this unprecedented bullying? Where will that line of reasoning end? Next they'll demand her middle-school diary!

5. She's right not to release them. Those who want them are only witch hunting, and
the Bernie Bros would manufacture a scandal in her first grade report card.

6. It's none of their bees-wax. Those speeches were made when she was a private citizen and
have nothing to do with anything but giving Republicans more ammo to go after her. There is nothing in those things, but Republicans, as they've done with BENGHAZI11!, SERVERS!!, E-MAILZ!11 just recently, will make a scandal out of whole cloth and they'll do it without a single American "journalist" challenging them.
And unless and until ALL candidates running release ALL transcripts of speeches, why should Hillary be required to? That's a double standard and I'm really sick of it. Slanders is helping the Republican Party. I hope when he's sent back to the Senate, he'll lose all his cozy chairs and committee seats and is ostracized by Democrats. |

2. Hillary was totally smeared when she was First Lady.
None of that bullshit stuck and she came out of that experience stronger than ever.
All of these "scandals" have been debunked. She has been a lightening rod for right-wing hate for many years. But she has endured. ![]() |

3. Eight years of peace and prosperity. It was awful.
Hopefully we won't have to go through that again!

8. No. I disagree with one part of what you're saying...
"The cattle futures one wasn't the most ridiculous--that would the speculations about her sexuality--but it was patently stupid."
The most ridiculous thing was speculation that she killed Vince Foster. That's the height of ridiculously idiotic. |

10. Yeah, you are right, and that has been brought up as well
My issue here is, they were RW attacks, everyone KNOWS they are from the RW, really nasty shit in that history, not hard to google --and we have people on the left promoting this? Makes me wonder.

Unfortunately, I've seen ppl purportedly on the left mention the whole VF thing too. I thought it was stupid as a young Republican in high school, and I still think it's stupid now. To hear this and the various things you mentioned being put forward from those SUPPOSEDLY on the left, leads me to really wonder how many of these people are trolls, unhinged, or simply haven't bothered to do their homework. It's especially vexing when it's groups or people whom I formerly had much respect for, but there's nothing that can be done about that now.

9. So true and so awful
It is when we learned how truly horrid the right wing had become.
