Bernie supporters currently in stage one and two in the 5 stages of grief

As you can see the forums are flooded with angry Bernie supporters who apparently are starting to realize the math, so I thought this would be a good time to list the famous 5 stages of grief:

Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance.

Many are still in stage one (Bernie will win!), more are already in stage 2 (Hillary and her supporters are the devil!, and Bernie or bust!), Jeff Weaver knows the math so he has skipped to stage 3 (the superdelegates will ignore the votes of the people and give it to Bernie!)...

I suspect after Hillary wins NY, which the polls still show she will, Bernie supporters will all move up one stage.

Some will never reach stage 5. But most will remember what they used to know (and fairly, many never forgot): that the republicans are the greatest danger to us all. They will remember the many long lines of the jobless in Bush's aftermath, they will remember the Supreme Court is within our grasp for the first time in ages, they will remember that the republicans ARE the protectors of the wealth gap, they will remember that the real enemy is whatever slithers out of the RNC convention with the nomination. When they see that thing, they'll remember that Bernie and Hillary were always on the same side.

1. Great post!!!

I think you're right - more than a few will never get past Stage 1 (had one poster here on DU today swearing that Bernie was way ahead of Hillary in Delegates). Tuesday will be a rude awakening.

2. If a miracle happens for Bernie I will vote for him, but the math...

2.4 million more votes, large delegate lead...

Hillary will claim victory before the convention as Obama did in 08

8. The more interesting question is whether he will be as gracious

as Hillary was in 08 and promptly throw his support behind her now. I'm afraid I can't see him doing that.I hope I'm wrong about that.

12. Gracious is not a term that comes to mind...

...with Bernie Sanders. He was always a bit full of himself on Brunch with Bernie Friday's on Hartman's show. How can it not inflate his ego when throngs of millennials think you're their savior?

I for one won't hold my breath waiting for a gracious version of Sanders.

3. i have noticed a major increase

in the nasty posts since the debate.

It's been like a swarm this weekend.
Old disproven RW talking points from the 90s ripping on Hillary supporters
and the seeming never ending posts imploring us to just compare her record to his.
The problem with that is that he has no record.

4. Easy for Bernie to criticize the pilots when

He's never flown a plane.

7. Record? What record?

I am going to paraphrase one very progressive acquaintance of mine who is a staunch Hillary supporter: Bernie just has not proven himself to be effective in accomplishing anything in the legislature. His record is very weak.

11. I think Sander's is the only one who can guide them through 4 and 5.

This primary could not be over soon enough imo Cha. I might feel differently if like in 2008 there was this giant swell that was benefitting the party, but Sander's & Co (especially his believers) are growing meaner by the minute. Am I wrong in my perception that they are trying to burn down the party?
