Sanders supporter Dr. Paul Song resigns from Courage Campaign after ‘corporate whore’ comment

“Medicare-for-all will never happen if we continue to elect corporate Democratic whores who are beholden to big pharma and the private insurance industry instead of us,” he said at the rally on April 14.

After facing a backlash, Song insisted he wasn’t referring to Sanders’ Democratic rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“I want to apologize to Secretary Clinton for my insensitive use of the word ‘whores’ and to adamantly profess that this was never intended nor directed at her, as some have incorrectly interpreted,” Song wrote.

2. Insensitive?

I think the word he was looking for is sexist.

11. That's a pet peeve of mine, too.

In the 1990s people started using "inclusive" when I believed a more honest term was "non-discriminatory."

4. From the article, it sounds like the organization was very displeased

with his public role with the Sanders campaign. They prefer to be non-committed to a specific candidate. He may have been pressured to resign.

5. This is an example of wreckless campaign operation, for some anything goes, it excited the crowd,

and for some it was okay for this to happen. I am glad there is proof of when bad things are said there are repercussions. Hopefully Dr Song will be a better person in the future for this experience.

6. He also deleted his twitter account...

I'd noticed he'd donated money to O'Malley (per Open Secrets), then to BS.

Given the efforts the Clintons went through to get his s-i-l freed after her bone-headed adventure in NK, this guy should be ashamed of himself. President Clinton put his safety in the hands of a dynasty of bona fide lunatics for her.

It's one thing not to support a candidate, another to call her names. Because I don't believe for a second that this very successful, very wealthy, radiation oncologist and CEO of a med tech company was oblivious to the language he was using.

8. He can...

...have a little of my respect then.

I'll even be nice and think that he just got got up in all the BS (heh) rhetoric.
