This group is the only safe haven for Hillary supporters. Every other place on DU
is overflowing with hostile Bernie supporters. Make the most innocuous remark and you alerted on. WTF?

3. And it's not even "safe" here.
I got used to this kind of bullshit back in 2008, when those of us who supported the Democratic president were banished to The BOG here on DemocraticUnderground.
It's why I left for several years - and only came back after understanding that DemocraticUnderground is just another free-for-all political message board, with absolutely no interest in being what it once was - a place for Democrats to discuss the Party, with a view to electing Democrats to office. DU is now Discussionst - with the exception that you have to pretend you're a Democrat in order to post here, whereas on Discussionist there is no such pretense required. |

7. It's the same thing we went through with The BOG ...
We Obama supporters were relegated to one small corner of DU - but despite having the entire site to bash him, that wasn't enough for some people. They had to come into The BOG to disrupt us anyway.
Yes, DU is now Discussionist - where RWers, Paulbots, etc. have to pretend to be Democrats, instead of just being honest about who they are, and what their intentions are. |

15. Exactly.
We disagreed with each other on many issues - but we KNEW we were all Democrats here, and were ultimately on the same team.
Now we're arguing with people who have done nothing but bash Obama, bash the Party - and now bash HRC - and we're all supposed to "pretend" that the bashers are Democrats. We're supposed to "pretend" that alleged BS supporters - who have never said a positive thing about Bernie, but only post anti-Dem/anti-HRC posts - are Democrats. We're supposed to "pretend" that real Democrats would encourage NOT voting for the (D) in November. We're supposed to "pretend" that real Democrats would rather see a Trump presidency then an HRC presidency. The TOS has been tossed out the window, the most vile personal attacks are left standing by juries who are supposedly setting "community standards", and I'm fuckin' sick of pretending that Democratic Underground has anything to do with Democrats. |

There were no Halcyon days when we all knew we were Democrats here. It was always for democrats not Democrats. That said, since the new jury system things slowly started going South and with Sanders as a candidate the place finally devolved into what many of us feared it might become. I agree with your assessment this place is now Discussionist with only a pretense of pretending to be a Democrat or Left leaning. IMO, it's the jury system and that can't be fixed. Whatever rules that come down won't be enough. |

42. I believe the original TOS stated ...
... DU was a site for "liberals, Democrats, and like-minded people".
I should have used small-D "democrats", but no matter - there are posters here who are definitely NOT "like-minded people". I wasn't posting here until late 2005, so never saw the Gore attacks. When I did start posting here, disruptors were dealt with by Mods, the TOS was enforced, and posting an OP about how a Democratic POTUS was a "piece of shit used car salesman" would have gotten you a tombstone, not hundreds of RECs and a place on the Home Page. And yes, those were the halcyon days - when the TOS meant something and "community standards" weren't up to juries who, as they often do, actually admit to voting to "hide" a post not based on its content, but based on who posted it and which "side" they were on. |

21. As soon as we realize...
As soon as we all realize that most of the vitriolic Bernie posters on here are not democrats, have never been democrats before, and have no interest in actually mobilizing toward electing democrats, the sooner we can start ignoring them and getting on with this general election.
I don't think #BernieorBust is an accurate description, these folks are more like #BernieorBurnTheCountryDown...it seems the majority of them would rather see Trump elected than Hillary, and that tells me a lot about their total lack of intellect, empathy, and critical thinking skills. Every moment they waste on anti-Hillary garbage is a moment lost stopping Trump from getting elected. We should stop acknowledging their presence on DU and focus all of our attention on the general election from this point forward. |

+1,000 for accuracy.
I completely agree that these people are not Democrats, and don't care about the Democratic Party. Not to mention the country. One of them actually said a Trump presidency would be a good "experiment" for the Revolution! NONE of them understands what can happen to the country if Trump somehow wins. Luckily, these morons are a minority. In the real world, 85% of Sanders supporters will vote for Hillary Clinton in the GE. We don't need or want the other 15%. DU is not the country. Most people don't even know it exists. |

I got my first ever and only Hide as the result of an OP I posted in this Group.
I may have had other posts alerted on elsewhere, but remain blissfully ignorant of that because so far I've had only one Hide, based on an alert from an SBS supporter - who has since been consigned to my Iggy List after a subsequent private message exchange - who was alert-stalking here and who was offended by my OP. I had a couple of threads locked early, but they were because I hadn't followed Group posting rules or had posted in the wrong group. Since then, I have become more familiar with the rules and have always tried to follow them. It really pisses me off when I see so many who flagrantly post anti-Dem and anti-Hillary posts here 24/7 and either too many Jury members will NOT vote to Hide or those posters are not PPRed outright. |

44. I think that it would be better if there was no "jury" or "alert" system. If you don't want to
see someone's post, you should be able to "hide it" just for yourself and you can just put someone on "ignore" if you don't like them. Why even have all this jury garbage? It is just being used as a way to drive people away from the site. I've been on a lot of forums (not necessarily political ones) and that usually works just fine.
