Nebraska superdelegate chooses Sanders

Lincoln Journal Star This was posted in LBN.

Maureen Monahan of Omaha, an uncommitted superdelegate to the Democratic national convention, announced Thursday she will support Bernie Sanders for her party's presidential nomination.

"I am encouraging all still unpledged superdelegates to support Senator Sanders as well," Monahan said in a written statement.

Monahan's position as party vice chair will be on the line at the Democratic state convention in Kearney later this month. Sanders supporters hold a majority of convention delegates as a result of his victory in the party caucus.

While Bernie Sanders' supporters responses were...

"Seems like something is afoot."

"You don't need a weatherman to know which way the winds (of change) are blowing."

"Showtime is just around the corner. Storms are brewing and the wind is coming from the opposite direction. Hmmmm, I wonder what that means?"

While a Hillary Clinton supporter responded...

"I'm confused. Am I to understand this Super delegate counts along with the other 44 that support Senator Sanders, but the 544 That support Hillary Don't count. is this correct? or is this the new math I keep hearing about? I just can't keep up."

It is amazing how they see the news. The lens they see through must be fractured.

At least in my state our state party officers don't have to worry about being defeated at the upcoming state convention. And ours are not elected by state convention delegates which is as it should be. Our state party officers are elected the year after a presidential election and it involves a reorganization at the county followed by the congressional district party. Only the top two officers from each district votes for state officers.
