Anyone remember the 1992 U.S. men's Olympic basketball 'Dream Team'?

That roster included such NBA heavyweights as Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, and Magic Johnson. The other nations had no chance.

I think the Dems will put them (and the Repubs) to shame in the general, with our own version of the 'Dream Team': Hillary & Bill Clinton, Barack & Michelle Obama, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, and (we can only hope) Bernie Sanders. But even without Sanders, we have a winning coalition.

I think the walk off snub after the Pistons were swept might have swayed the Olympic Committee. LuvLoogie Jun 2016 #4

Sanders is the towel boy, not a team member. nt BobbyDrake Jun 2016 #9
I'd compare him to a ticket scalper, but it might get hidden. nt BootinUp Jun 2016 #10
LOL, in other words, he's stuck out in the parking lot. Where he belongs. nt BobbyDrake Jun 2016 #11

The Pistons won back to back championships in 1989-1990 and not a single member was on the team, thanks to the interference of Michael Jordan! I'm still mad! LOL. Thanks a lot for bringing that up!

Otherwise, good point though.

Dennis and the Bulls patched things up though. He was a great player for the Bulls' second 3-peat. Phil Jackson worked him in and he became part of the team.

He threatened not to play if any Pistons were on the team, which I thought was cold. Water under the bridge, but I still can't stand Jordan and I got a mighty laugh when he did his HOF speech and basically insulted everyone he'd ever known in his life, including his high school coach and his own kids! No surprise to anyone Pistons fan, that.

But back to the topic, the Dems have a great team, especially if Back Bench Bernie stays on the bench.

Loading up an Olympic team with hardcore pros to compete against a bunch of amateurs.

That led to the pros taking over all of the major Olympic sports. I liked it better when it was an amateur competition.

Time to cash in.

Book deals, movie/TV rights, "elder-progressive-statesman-who-never-sold-out-status."

For most of us, a footnote in history.

For some, an icon.

Now, it's Warren's turn!!!
